Frequently asked questions about the espresso machineUpdated 4 days ago
Here you can find answers to common questions about the MyBlend Portable Espresso Machine. The machine is designed to brew espresso with either ground coffee or capsules.
How do I start the espresso machine?
If you are using cold water, press and hold the heating button, the one with a coffee cup icon, for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep. The machine will then heat the water before brewing starts.
If you are using already heated water, press and hold the brewing button, the one with a drop icon, for about 3 seconds. Brewing will then start directly.
How much water should I use?
The water tank holds up to 75 ml. Do not fill above the maximum level.
For a regular espresso, we recommend about 50 ml of water. For a larger cup, such as a double espresso or lungo, you can use up to about 70 ml of water.
Can I use both capsules and ground coffee?
Yes, the espresso machine can be used with both compatible capsules and ground coffee.
If you use ground coffee, we recommend about 8–10 grams of coffee per brew. Press the coffee gently so the surface is even, but do not pack it too firmly.
Which grind size works best?
A medium to medium-fine grind works best. If the coffee is too finely ground, the water may have difficulty passing through. If the coffee is too coarsely ground, it may flow through too quickly and give a weaker result.
How many cups can I make on one charge?
It depends on whether you use cold or hot water.
- With cold water, about 50 ml, you can make approximately 4–5 cups per full charge.
- With cold water, about 70 ml, you can make approximately 3 larger cups per full charge.
- With hot water and direct brewing, the machine can make up to about 100 cups per full charge.
How do I charge the machine?
Charge the machine using the included USB-C cable or a certified USB-C charger of at least 10 W. A full charge takes about 3 hours.
When the machine is fully charged, the indicator light will turn solid.
How do I check the battery level?
Press any button once while the machine is in standby mode. The color of the indicator light shows the battery level.
- Green light means high battery level.
- Yellow light means medium battery level.
- Orange light means low battery level.
- Red light means the battery should be charged soon.
Why does the machine not start?
If the machine does not start, it may be because the battery is empty, the water tank is empty or the machine needs to cool down.
Try charging the machine fully, checking that the water tank is filled and letting the machine rest for at least 10 minutes if it has recently been used.
Why is no coffee coming out?
If the coffee is not being extracted, it is usually because the coffee is too finely ground, the filter is overfilled or the coffee has been pressed too firmly.
Use about 8–10 grams of coffee, press gently and make sure the filter is about 80% full and level on top.
Can I use milk in the water tank?
No. Only use clean drinking water in the water tank. Milk or other liquids may damage the machine and affect its function.
How do I clean the espresso machine?
Let the machine cool down before cleaning. Remove the water tank, brewing chamber and filter or capsule adapter. Rinse the removable parts with warm water and mild dish soap.
Never immerse the machine itself in water, as it contains electronics. Only wipe the outside with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
Can I travel with the espresso machine?
The machine contains a rechargeable lithium battery. Always check current regulations with your airline or transport provider before traveling with the product.
