Yes, it can. Just make sure not to use pieces that are too large, and add plenty of liquid when blending.

When blending heavier ingredients, start your MyBlend upside down so the blades can rotate freely and are not blocked by anything. Then turn your MyBlend upright and let the ingredients hit the blades at full speed.
